Farooq feels vindicated

By Special Correspondent

Srinagar May 17. The National Conference patron and former Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah said here today that he felt vindicated because the Royal Springs Golf Course which was his idea for tourism promotion in Jammu and Kashmir has now been taken up by his detractors.

In a statement here, Dr. Abdullah welcomed the State Government hosting the Ambassadors Cup Golf Tournament and pointed out that the Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his party had earlier maligned the project.

Dr. Abdullah, a golf enthusiast, was conspicuous by his absence at the Golf Course here.

He was targeted for turning the sprawling City Forests into the Golf Course. Built at a cost of Rs. 40 crores it requires an annual maintenance expenditure of around Rs. two crores.
