Police have identified the accused as Abdul Saleem (30), Mohammad Syed (20), Asad (23), Shafiullah (25), and Ilyas (33). The cell phones are worth about Rs. 1 lakh.
Chain snatcher held
Saravana alias Dumma (18) of Manjunathnagar was reportedly chased and nabbed by the public after he snatched a gold chain from a college student in Yeshwantpur police station limits on February 5. He was handed over to police. According to press note from police today, Saravana used to follow pedestrians and snatch their gold chains. Seven gold chains worth about Rs. 50,000 were reportedly seized from him. The accused was allegedly involved in cases of chain snatching reported from Mahalakshmi Layout and Srirampura police station limits.
Three vehicles recovered
H.A.L. police have arrested Shivakumar (23) of Panathur Dinne, and recovered two two-wheelers and an autorickshaw, in all valued at Rs. 1 lakh, from him. The two-wheelers were stolen from Infantry Road and Shivajinagar, and the autorickshaw from Lottegollahalli, according to police.
Car stereos seized
Stolen car stereos worth about Rs. 35,000 were recovered by Kumaraswamy Layout police following the arrest of Noor (23) of Marenahalli, Jayanagar. Police said the accused had been arrested earlier in connection with cases of car thefts reported in Tyagarajanagar, J.P. Nagar, and Madiwala.
