582 rail passengers fined

CHENNAI Feb. 11 . A surprise ticket-checking drive was conducted by the Chennai division in the early hours of today at Tada, Arambakkam, Gummudipoondi and Minjur stations, which resulted in apprehending 582 persons who did not have valid tickets. About Rs. 41,000 was collected from them as fine. The drive was conducted by the Divisional Commercial Manager with the help of 70 ticketing staff and 45 RPF personnel.
