By Our Sports Reporter

KOLKATA FEB. 11. DTDC Tollygunge Agragami defeated Indian Bank 4-2 in a 13th round match of the Oil PSU VII National Football League here at the Salt Lake Stadium on Tuesday.

National team striker Ashim Biswas became the hero of the day striking the target twice with two delectable efforts, which ensured the home team register full three points. Biswas — later declared the ONGC Man-of-the-Match — was aided in his enterprise by his two Nigerians colleagues, Moses Owira and Akeem Abulalem, who scored one apiece to complete the Agragami goal spree.

The win had Agragami netting 17 points from five wins, two draws and six losses while Indian Bank, falling to its fifth consecutive loss, remained on 11 points finding itself among the bottom placed teams of the 12-team contest.

Indian Bank, which trailed 0-4 till the 73rd minute, redeemed some of its pride getting two of its second session substitutes — Syed Shabir Pasha and Basheer Ahmed — reducing the margin scoring a goal each. The bankmen's resurgence started a bit late as the home team had built up too big a lead to be surpassed.

Agragami took the lead in the 18th minute of the match when Moses Owira finished a fine solo effort. The home side enhanced the lead three minutes later as Biswas got into action volleying home a free-kick by Amitava Chandra. Biswas scored again in the 27th minute from a dipping long-ranger that beat opponent goalkeeper, Sebastian Netto, all ends up.

Agragami continued to dominate following the change of ends and saw Akeem Abulalem scoring the fourth goal (in the 67th minute) from a nice solo effort.

With the contest nearing its end, the bankmen scored two late goals through Pasha (73rd minute) and Ahmed (87th) to save a complete washout.
