Spurious medicines at Raj Bhavan

By Our Staff Reporter

Jammu Feb. 11. Peeved at the circulation of spurious and outdated drugs in the State, the Jammu and Kashmir Governor, Girish Chander Saxena, expressed deep concern over the state of the health sector and said that even the Raj Bhavan was not immune to the menace.

Inaugurating a medical institute here, Mr. Saxena lashed out at the poor state of the health sector.

"It is really sad that spurious drugs are being supplied and there is no check and control over the system. Sometimes, I get poor quality and expired medicines. Many a time I find them either expired or nearing expiry," he said.

He stressed the need for formulating a comprehensive policy to keep a check on the flow of the drugs in the market.
