15 DPM activists arrested

Srinagar Jan. 6. Fifteen activists of the newly-floated Democratic Political Movement, a constituent of the Hurriyat Conference, were detained by police here today when they tried to stage a demonstration against security forces, official sources said.

Led by senior leader Firdous Ahmad, the activists appeared near a shrine in Khankahi area in downtown city as part of a meet-the-people programme and tried to stage a demonstration, alleging highhandedness by security forces. — PTI
