By Our Staff Reporter
The Tourism Minister, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who distributed assets under various schemes to beneficiaries at the above places, said that the concept of Janmabhoomi was beginning to show results and people and leaders irrespective of political affiliation were extending their cooperation for the development of their areas. "A distinct enthusiasm has marked this round of Janmabhoomi,'' he added. Later speaking to mediapersons, he said the only complaint pertained to non-issuance of white ration cards. A household survey was being done to check duplication and elimination of bogus cards. The migration of people to city from districts without surrendering their ration cards was also creating hurdles. He however said that by next January, white cards would be issued to the eligible. Priority was also being given for furnishing the newly constructed school buildings and also to appoint teachers wherever there was shortage. Earlier at Yerukalabasthi Sabha, a handicapped youth complained that the staff disbursing pension were demanding commission. The Minister directed the Collector to look into the issue. He told the beneficiaries that they should not hesitate to question the Government staff if there was a cut in Rs.225 given once in three months (Rs.75 a month). He sanctioned new borewells in the area as old wells became defunct. A woman, Lakshamamma, complained that she was not sanctioned any loan though many women in her area were extended loans. The Minister said that Government would treat every one equally but she should first find out how they became eligible for loans. ''The aid would not come to you if you sit at your home. Become a member of SHG like others'', he adivsed her. Assets worth Rs.4.72 lakhs were sanctioned to a total of 162 beneficiaries in Yerukalavada basthi by the revenue, women development and child welfare, SC and BC corporations. Similarly assets woth Rs.45.5 lakhs were distributed to 4,457 beneficiaries in Himayatnagar constituency. The Himayatnagar MLA Krishna Yadav explained about the works taken up under 17th round of Janmabhoomi like laying and widening of roads, laying of water lines and appealed to the Government to shift several hazardous small scale units like acid factories from the constituency to a safer area as people were anxious about living in the midst of these units. The Collector Rajeshwar Tiwari, Municipal Commissioner Chitra Ramachandran, Supervisory special officer, Hyderabad district D.R.Garg, officials of APtransco, water works, SC, BC corporations, nodal officers among others took part in the meetings.
