The conference will focus on sustainable solutions for the economic, social, and spiritual upliftment of society and on the need for establishment of world peace, according to the Executive Director, K.Narayanan of Sri Sri Centre for Media Studies (SSCMS). The Vice-President, Bairon Singh Shekwat, will inaugurate the conference at Visalakshi Mantap, an international meditation hall at Ved Vignan Maha Vidhya Peeta in Kanakapura Road in the presence of Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art of Living Foundation on January 18. On the same day, there will be a session on "Spirituality and sustainable development", chaired by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Digvijay Singh. On January 19, the Defence Minister, George Fernandes, will moderate a session on "Spirituality and science". The Deputy Prime Minister, L.K.Advani, the Governor, T.N.Chaturvedi, and the Chief Minister, S.M.Krishna, are expected to attend the conference. Sant Samagam, a confluence of saints, will be held on January 16. On January 17, Durga Homa will be performed for the world peace. Sri Balagangadaranath Swamiji, of Adi Chunchunagiri Math, Sri Jayendra Saraswati, Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Sri Shivarathnapuri Tiruchi Mahaswamigal, Sri Vishvesa Thirtha of Pejawar Math, Sri Shivarathri Desikendra Swamiji of Suttur Math, Sri Shivamurthy Shivacharya of Tarabalu Math, Sri Shivkumar Swamiji of Siddaganga Math, and Sri Veerendra Hegde, and Sri Dayananda Swamiji of Gayathri Peetha will bless the occasion. The conference will conclude on January 20 with a dance ballet by Hema Malini and party. There will be an exhibition by Dharma Master Shih Hsin Tao.
