Letters to the Editor
Sir This is with reference to the report regarding Ram Jethmalani taking up the case of the Dec.13 convicts. Ostensibly this case is going to add one more feather to Mr. Jethmalani's cap and I would like to commend his enthusiasm and passion for the legalism of our country. As it is the bottom line of the law that no innocent should be punished and everyone must be given a fair trial, Mr. Jethmalani's endeavour will not only give a fair chance to put forward issues but will lead us to the insight of the case.
Abhimanyu Shandilya,
Sir The advice of the Shiv Sena chief, Bal Thackeray, to the lawyer, Ram Jethmalani, on the latter's reported move to defend the accused in the Parliament attack case is shocking. Mr. Jethmalani has reacted as a lawyer first. His approach also speaks volumes of his humanitarian spirit. Mr. Thackeray's words smack of rabid extremism.
Md. Noman,
