Koujalgi will not be arrested: Kharge

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, APRIL 7. The Home Minister, Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge, said on Saturday that the KPCC president, Mr. V.S. Koujalgi, would not be arrested while he faced a Lokayukta probe.

Mr. Kharge wanted to know why the BJP had not yet filed an FIR ``despite having so much `evidence' against Mr. Koujalgi''. Besides, when the Lokayukta case was filed, Mr. Koujalgi was not the KPCC president, he pointed out.

Mr. Kharge informed presspersons here that Mr. Koujalgi, submitted his resignation on Saturday following directions to that effect from the Congress High Command in New Delhi.

Mr. Kharge was speaking after inaugurating the ICE exhibition at the Morzaria Grounds near Bangalore Dairy.
